    The Acts of Union
    This act was put into play on January 1st, 1801. It was a change, as it was used to unite Britain. It did this by abolishing Ireland's parliament. This brought forth the United Kingdom.
  • Health and Morals of Apprentices Act

    Health and Morals of Apprentices Act
    This act was passed in 1802. It was the first act to regulate labor. It was a change, as it brought forth a wave of rules and regulations in regard to safety. Changed the idea of labor through out Europe.
  • Napoleonic Code

    Napoleonic Code
    This was a rule book created by the great Napoleon Bonaparte. It brought forth a change in France, as it switched from a monarchy to an empire. This was enforced by Napoleon himself. It changed French society by allowing people to be fairly picked for jobs by skill, rather than connections.

    Napoleon Becomes Emperor
    Napoleon becomes Emperor of France. This is change as up until that moment France had been led by a monarchy. Napoleon and his rule had a direct relation to how society was run in France. His military expeditions changed how Europe looked, making what it is today.

    The Factory Act
    The factory act was an act put in place by England in 1833. This act prohibited the employment of children under the age of 9. It also limited legal working hours for kids between the ages of 9-13. This was a change, as it one was of the first times that a law was passed for the regulation of children working.
  • The Mines Act

    The Mines Act
    This act was passed in 1842. Similar to the Factory Act, this act prohibited the use of women and kids under the age of 10 to work in the mine. This was a continuation of the act mentioned above, showing a clear direction at which England was developing. Though this act had good intentions, it further supported the idea of gender pay gaps.

    This act was passed in 1844. It brought forth regulations for the safety of workers during the Industrial Revolution. This is a change, as before, there were no regulations on safety. This showed a clear idea on what way England was developing.

    The Coal Mines Inspection Act was passed in 1850. The name describes what it did. This was a continuation of the acts it proceeded in England. They were furthering the safety and regulation of labor.
  • Emancipation Manifesto

    Emancipation Manifesto
    Also called the Emancipation Reform of 1861. The emancipation reform of 1861 in Russia was the first of the reforms enacted during the reign of Emperor Alexander II of Russia. The reform effectively abolished serfdom throughout the Russian Empire. This is a change, as never before had Russia stopped serfdom.

    Factory and Workshop (Consolidating) Act
    Factory and Workshop (Consolidating) Act was passed in 1890. It was a continuation of the acts in regards to labor in England. It further raised the minimum age for labor. It also raised rules in regards to sanitation.
