Adolf Hitler becomes Prime Minister and declares himself a dictator. An anti- jewish law is established. The Franks decide to move to the Netherlands.

Anne Frank starts school in Amsterdam.

German troops invade the Netherlands in search of Jews.

All Jews that are Dutch are forced to wear yellow stars.

Anne is presented with a diary for her thirteenth birthday.

Anne's older sister, Margot, gets called to go to a forced-labor camp. The next day, the Franks go into hiding.

The Franks move into the 'secret annex' with the van Daan family.

Another Jewish family (originally from Germany) join the Franks in hiding.

The last resident of the Secret Annex ( also the eigth ), Fritz Pfeffer, joins the Franks and other families in hiding.

The Secret Annex residents are betrayed and arrested to a police station in Amsterdam. They are then taken to the Westerbork, a transit camp in Holland.

The prisoners are transported on a cattle car to Auschwitz. They are took the last transport out of Westerbork. When they arrive, male and female are seperated.

Anne, Margot, and Mrs. van Pels are moved again to the Bergen-Belsen camp. Anne's mother stays in the subcamp at Auschwitz-Birkenau for women.

Anne's mother dies at Auschwitz-Birkenau.

Anne's father is released from Auschwitz by the Russian army. He travels to Odessa and then to France before allowed to return to Amsterdam.

Margot dies at the Bergun-Belsun concentration camp because of Typhus.

Anne dies within days of her sister's death with the same cause, typhus.

Hitler commits suicide as the war turns against Germany. Germany surrenders ending World War II in Europe.

Anne's father returns to Amsterdam, still unclued of his daughters' deaths, and is reunited with Miep and Jan Gies.

Anne's father is finally told that Anne and Margot passed away already at the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp. He is then given Anne's diary, found in the annex after the family was arrested, by Miep.

Anne's diary gets printed and published in Amsterdam.

Anne's diary is published again but to the United States. It is titled, " Anne Frank: Diary of a Young Girl ".

The Anne Frank House opens to the public.
