    The new Kingdom

    The New Kingdom began around 1550 bc until 1070 bc. This new generation lead the Egyptains down a new path of construction. They built the most powerful empire around all southwest Asia. The wealth of the Empire increased the Pharaohs popularity.

    Hammurabi Code
    The writting of The Hammurabi code was for the purpose of trying to keep the Empire stable and in order. The laws were to provide strict but firm justice towards one another to make leaving equal. This code was to be taken seriously, especially since there were 282 laws being followed and obeyed. Any one who proved to disobey these laws suffered harsh punishments., The terms " Eye for an Eye" & "Tooth for a Tooth" were terms followed up till today. But today we only view it as Karma.

    The middle kingdom began around 2055 BC until 1650 bc. The Egyptians later considered this to be the golden age of stability. To prove that, Egypt began to expand more and more which made them become more powerful in life and Culture.

    After being attacked by neighbors next to the Sumarian Empire, this empire began to fall. The system of warring city-states only lasted until about 1792 B.C. In a small city-state known as Babylon, located south of Akkad, Hammurabi came in to take charge. He earned control of sumer and Akkad, also creating a new Kingdom for Mesopotamia. But after his death in 1750 B.C, many weak kings couldn't keep the Empire stable, until it "finally fell into"new invaders"

    The old Kingdom "was an age of prosperity and splendor." Just like the kings of the city-states of Sumerian, the Monarchs were made powerful rulers over unified states. After a while they changed the names up from Monarchs to Pharaohs, which ment " Great house, or Palace." It started to become more common for everyone.

    The first Empire was created by Sargon, who was the leader of the Akkadians. He "overran the Sumarian city-states" and created the first empire.

    The largest pyramid was built under king Khufu and was constructed at Giza in 2540 BC. It covers 13 acres, measures to about 756 ft and stands 481 ft high.

    Egyptians started practicing Mummification. After a king ot someone died, they removed their lungs, liver, stomach, and intestines, and put them in 4 different jars. Then the Priest removed the brain by extracting it from the nose. Then they covered the body with natural salt that absoerbed the bodys water. after the body was filled with spices and was wrapped with "layers of linen soaked in resin."

    Okay so the nile river began to form a Delta. A trianglular split into two major branches. The Nile Delta is called Upper egpyt and Lower Egpyt.

    The first Egyptian writing began to be developed in 3000 bc called hieroglyphics. Which means "Priest carvings" or "Sacrfed writings". It consisted of pictures and other abstract forms of writing.
