    The first two battles of the Revolutionary War, British hoped to capture Samuel Adams and John Hancock. Paul Revere warned them that the British were coming. 122 men died in the skirmishes. The battles were caused because the British were sent to take all the weapons from the colonist.

    The colonist captured Fort Ticonderoga on May 10th, 1775. The Green Mountain Boys, led by Seth Warner, was a small militia that helped the victory of this battle. The colonial militia seized a small stretch of land that contained armory.

The British charged 3 times before the colonist retreated. 1,000 British soldiers died and only around 400 colonist died. General Warren was a famous colonist that died in the Battle of Bunker Hill, he was a physician and politician from Massachusetts.

    George Washington led the Battle of Trenton. He crossed the Delaware River. He launched a secret attack on Christmas Day. The Americans defeated the Hessian British forces with ease. It boosted the colonial soldiers confidence with an easy victory.

    The Battle of Yorktown was the end of major land operations in America. Charles Cornwallis and his British troops surrendered to George Washington. The French helped the American troops win the battle. Charles Cornwallis led the British at Yorktown. This resulted ended in an American and French victory.
