    Battles Of Lexington And Concord

    The battles of Lexington and Concord, kicked off the American Revolutionary War. Tension had been building between the colonies and the British over many years. On 4/19/1775, hundreds of British soldiers marched from Boston to Concord to seize a stockpile of weapons and ammo. Paul Revere and the other riders warned the colonists so they could form their militias to intercept in Redcoat action.

    Battle Of Fort Ticonderoga

    As the Americans gathered around Boston during the siege, they realized they did not have cannons to carry out a successful siege. Fort Ticonderoga became an objective to store cannons and a strategic position. Colonial Benedict Arnold proposed the capture of Ticonderoga and the plan was to be approved by Dr. Joseph Warren. His plan was to raise 400 soldiers in colonies and surprise the fort.

    Battle Of Bunker Hill

    Early in the Revolutionary War, the British defeated the Americans in the Battle Of Bunker Hill in Massachusetts. Despite the Americans loss, they had inflicted significant casualties on the British and gained a confidence boost. Although referred as the Battle Of Bunker Hill, most of the fighting was on Breed's Hill.

    Battle Of Long Island

    After evacuating Boston, the British reorganized and focused on New York (Considered Long Island at the time). When everything was ready, they made an attempt on Long Island. Lieutenant General William Howe led the American navy army to Sandy Hook, New Jersey. This guarded one of the entrances to New York Harbor. Major General Henry Clinton brought 40,000 British troops. The British were ready attack the Patriots and finally end this rebellion.

    Battle Of Trenton

    Having been defeated in the Battles For New York City, General George Washington and the remains of the Continental Army fled across New Jersey. Being pursued by the the British forces under Major General Lord Charles Cornwallis, the American commander wanted to get protection out of the Delaware River. As they retreated, Washington faced a crisis as his army began to disintegrate through desertions. Washington then made a plan to make a surprise attack on the Hessians at Trenton.

    Battle Of Saratoga

    On September 19th, British General John Burgoyne achieved a small victory over American forces led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. Though his troops were weaker, Burgoyne attacked the Americans again at Bemis Heights On October 7th. But he was defeated and retreated . 10 days later, Burgoyne surrendered and the Americans got the French as their ally.

    Battle Of Monmouth

    The Battle of Monmouth took place on Sunday, June 28, 1778 at Monmouth, New Jersey. Sir Henry Clinton, a British commander, retreated from Philadelphia to New York. As Henry led the British across New Jersey, George Washington decided to attack. After a while, Marquis de Lafayette noticed that the British were directing reinforcements. So Washington, with the help of a pal, ranked up others but failed to gain a victory.

    Battle Of Cowpens

    The Battle of Cowpens was located in South Carolina. American troops were under control by Lieutenant Colonel Banastre Tarleton. The Americans inflicted severe damage on the British and started the turning point in the wars southern campaign.

    Battle Of Yorktown

    In the fall of 1781, the Americans and the French teamed up and laid siege on Yorktown. Leaded by George Washington and French General Comte de Rochambeau, they began their final attack when they captured two British leaders and the surrender of British leader Lord Corwallis and nearly 9,000 troops. Yorktown was the final battle of the American revolution.
