    The battle of Lexington was the first military engagement of the American Revolution. The outbreak was with the Kingdom of Britian. It was to solve problems with them and the 13 colonies.

    The British then moved onto Concord, to find arms, not knowing that the majority of them had been relocated. They burned what little they found and the fire got out of control.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    It took place in Boston, And we lost. Dispite the loss, it gave us a confidence boost.
  • New York

    The battle was over control of New York. The British held New York harbor for the wat, using it as a base for expeditions against other targets.
  • Trenton

    The British lost to America in this battle.
  • Philadelphia

    The British moved to Philadelphia. They captured Philadelphia which at the time was the capital of America, but his second in command soon took over and evacuated them from there.

    Americans lost the battle to the british. But they weakened the British.
  • Marquis de Lafayette

    He was a military leader who outwitted the British. THe British had went out to capture him but he out smarted them.
  • Valley Forge

    NO battle was faught at Valley Forge, but it was a turning point in the revolution. It was when the Continental army was ready to quit. But they didn't.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown
    17,000 French and Continental troops bean a battle known as the Battle of Yorktown against the british. They only had 9000 soldiers. Yorktown defeated the British.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    On this day, the Treaty of Paris was signed, formally recognizing that the United States as a free and independent nation after eight years of war.
