    The French Indian War

    The French Indian War or also called the seven years war was conflict between Britain and France lasting for 7 years. It was fight for the land and the ownership of the Ohio river valley where French wanted to expand but British already had territory in. The outcome of the war was that British won and French lost almost all territory.
  • The proclamation of 1763

    The proclamation of 1763
    Royal issued proclamation that was issued in 1763. Wanted to prevent colonial expansion westward of Appalachia.
    It created a boundary, known as the proclamation line, separating the British colonies on the Atlantic coast from American Indian lands west of the Appalachian Mountains.

    The taxation of British colonies by British started in 1764. Parliaments first direct tax on the colonies was the Stamp Act. Was passed to raise money for the British. Tax in the form of a stamp required on all newspapers, legal and commercial documents. The Stamp Act was first direct tax to be levied on the 13 colonies and affected the lives of every colonist.

Its purpose was to raise revenue through the colonial customs service and to give customs agents more power and latitude with respect to executing seizures and enforcing customs law. The taxation was another punishment for colonists.

    The Boston tea party was political protest, where american colonists dumped 342 chests of tea into the the harbor. Colonists where angry at Britain for "taxation without representation" and about the tea act. The event was the first major act of defiance to British rule over the colonists. This event sparked rebellion among colonists.

    Also called Boston port act, act in which the British Parliament closes Boston Port and demands the city residents to pay almost 1 million worth of tea that was dumped by colonists in Boston Harbor. During the Boston Tea party of December 16 1773. It was designed to punish the Boston citizen for what they have done.

    Continental congress served as the government of the 13 American Colonies and later United States Meeting of 13 delegates from 13 colonies to discuss crisis. The First Continental Congress, which was comprised of delegates from the colonies, met in 1774 in reaction to the Coercive Acts, a series of measures imposed by the British government on the colonies in response to their resistance to new taxes.

    Laws passed by the British parliament in 1774 after the Boston tea party took place. The laws were meant to punish the Massachusetts colonists for their actions in the Tea Party protest in reaction to changes in taxation by the British for the colonists. British saw the rebellion as dangerous and passing these laws was meant to punish the colonists and prevent them from rebelling ever again.
