  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    Around January 1st,1783 the Treaty of Paris was made. The United States and Great Britain signed a peace treaty with Paris, France. The treaty was made since Great Britain agreed to recognize the U.S as an independent nation and U.S agreed to return all rights taken from the loyalists during the war.
  • Battle of Lexington and Cincord

    Battle of Lexington and Cincord
    On April 19th, 1775, at dawn, the battle of Lexington and concord began because a spy who spread news to General Gage that the colonists were hiding a large supply of gunpowder and weapons near in Concord. They decided to attack them for the supplies.
  • Battle of Bunker hill

    On June 16th, 1775 the Battle of Bunker Hill took place. Israel Putnam led a few hundred men up Breed hill. They made a fort on it. This worried British general William Howe. He ordered an immediate attack on them.
  • Battle of Princeton

    On January 3rd 1776 the Americans captured people from Princeton, New Jersey. They toke 300 British troops. George Washington attacked the British in Princeton. The British general, Mercer told his men to attack and Washington’s men began to flee.

    The Battle of New York was on July 3rd, 1776. During this time British had no government under rule. So, they decided New York would be perfect. They tried to take over and a battle started between General Washington and General Howe. Washington had very less men and not very trained while Howe had 40,000 soldiers. It was a very hard battle during war time

    On July 4th, 1776 the Declaration of Independence, made by Thomas Jefferson was approved by congress. The people included were Benjamin Franklin, Thomas Jefferson and most other delegates liked the passages in the document except for slavery.
  • Battle of Trenton

    On December 25th, 1776, Washington’s army crossed the ice-choked Delaware River to capture Trenton. They arrived there while everyone was sleeping. They were all surprised and surrendered. They caught 868 men and toke over the town, and won victory.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    The Battle of Saratoga was on September 19th, and October 7th, 1777. The Battle was for eighteen days apart. It was a turning point in the war for General Washington and Burgoyne. General Burgoyne surrendered on October 7th, 1777.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    Battle of Monmouth
    On June 28th, 1778 late at night George Washington caught up with the British retreating near Monmouth, New Jersey. The people involved were George Washington and his rally men.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    On October 6th, 1781 the trap was set in Yorktown. The people involved were Joseph Martin, George Washington, the French, Americans and British. The Battle of Yorktown began when Washington blocked the Chesapeake Bay, to keep Cornwallis from entering Yorktown.
