  • Currency Act

  • Albany Plan of Union

    The French were allied with the Native Americans, and they had an advantage in fighting. The colonists had a better chance of winning the French and Indian War. The colonists still went to war with the French and Native Americans.
  • Writs of Assistance

    King George wanted to make sure that trade laws were being enforced. Colonists had to feed soldiers, put up with them searching their land, and some people had to house soldiers. Colonists took the writs of assistance to court in order to insure that their houses and land don't need to be searched.

  • French and Indian War

    The French and the American colonists were fighting over land such as the Ohio Valley, the Allgheny, and the Monongahela rivers. England was losing money, so King George III taxed the colonists after years of isolation. The colonists revolted because of over taxation.

    In order to pay for the French and Indian War, England taxed the colonists on imported goods. The colonists were over taxed and they soon became angry. The colonists revolted and boycott all imported goods.
  • Stamp Act

    This act was also to pay for the money lost in the French and Indian War. The colonists were over taxed and they soon became angry. The colonists revolted and boycott all imported goods.
  • Quartering Act

    Barracks and supplies for British Troops. Loss of supplies for their own soldiers. Acted against their will. Forced into doing it.
  • Townshend Acts

    Parliament passed this act in order to pay for protection of the colonies. The colonists were over taxed and they soon became angry. The colonists revolted and boycott all imported goods. This was one of the acts that led to the Boston Tea Party.
  • Boston Massacre

    The British Soldiers were unwelcome in Boston, so the British Soldiers kiled five people. Five colonists were killed. A town meeting was held in order to find out who was guilty. Two British Soldiers were found guilty of manslaughter.
  • Tea Act

    The East India Tea Company had millions of pounds of unsold tea that they were trying to sell. The colonists were over taxed again and soon became angry. Colonists in Phillidelphia and New York sent the ships back to Britain.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The colonists were being over taxed on their tea and imported goods. The colonists felt powerful because they had just rebelled againsrt England, and would do it again soon. The colonists rebelled even more against England, which caused the American Revolution.

    Britain was attacking to colonists. All the colonies had one solid, main army. Patriots willingly joined to protect their land.
