Started when British and hired German soldiers attacked New York City. They chased Washington's army through New Jersey and Pennsylvannia. They captured all 3 states. Washington's army wound up re-capturing those 3 states in 1788 on October.

2 months after the fighting at Saratoga, Washington's army camped out at Valley Forge during winter time. They built log cabins to stay there for 1 year under the conditions of a harsh winter. They lacked food, water, clothing, and other neccesities. Other countries that they were allianced with came to help.

During 1799 the Continental army had lost and won some wars but failed at preventing British troops to invade.

The battle was held at the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia. While the British were waiting for their supplies and troops were arriving from New York City, the French, fighting for America, were advancing. The British ship carrying supplies and troops was forced back. The British surrendered after that and the Americans had won.
