    Lexington and Concord

    The British troops sought to capture hidden military supplies in Concord. Warnings to the colonists came from patriots Paul Revere, William Dawes, and Samuel Prescott about the coming British troops. The Minutemen joined together to stop the approaching British troops at Lexington, but failed. Eventually, the British made it to Concord, but the Minutemen made the redcoats return to Boston. The leaders of the patriots were John Hancock and Samuel Adams. The Bristish leader was Thomas Gage.

    Battle of Bunker (Breed's) Hill

    This was the first all-out battle of the Revolutionary War. The British wanted to seize Bunker Hill because the colonists had their cannons there, in which they were to fire at British ships in Boston Harbor. The British ended up taking over Bunker/Breed's, but suffered many casualties during this battle. General Howe was the leader for the British, while William Prescott lead the Patriots in battle.

    Trenton/Princeton (NJ Campain)

    George Washington, the leader of the American colonists, needed a victory over Britian to keep hope and moral in his army. He decided to cross the Delaware River and capture Trenton, New Jersey. Trenton was held by Hessians at the time of the capture. The victory boosted the colonists moral, and a few days later they seized Princeton.

    Battle of Saratoga ( Bemis Heights, the Second Battle)

    British General John Burgoyne lead his army south from Canada. British General Howe was to lead his army north from Philadelphia. The plan was to isolate New England by itself, and finish the war, But, the American Continental and Minutemen surrounded Burgoyne's army. They made the British surrender. Bemis Heights was the second Battle of Saratoga. The American leader was General Arnold. The Americans were resistant in this victory. The French joined the American colonists after these battles.

    Fort Ticonderoga

    In 1777, General John Burgoyne of Britian, was able to set a cannon on top of Fort Ticonderoga, However, due to the heavy loss of the Battle of Saratoga, Britian abandoned the fort. The fort was crucial to have control because it connected Canada with the northern states.

    Siege of Charleston

    This is when the American colonists had a devastating loss to the British, who ended up taking over Charleston. General Charles Cornwallis was in charge of Charleston after the British sieged this city. The American leaders, George Washington and Nathanael Green, took their army inland as to attract Cornwallis' army to fight them. This strategy ended up very costly to the British.

    King's Mountain

    Colonel William Campbell, leader of the American Patriots, lined his army in the backwoods of South Carolina to stop the territorial advancement of the British. Major Patrick Ferguson did not approve of this blockage. Therefore, he decided to run at the Patriots. As you could image, the British were demolished in this battle.

    Yorktown

    This was the battle that 'declared' the United States of America. Cornwallis and his army of men was waiting for the British Fleet at the top of Yorktown peninsula. General George Washington and his army attacked them. The French naval fleet prevented the British fleet from rescuing Cornwallis and his men.
