    Battles of Lexington and Concord
    The battle of Lexington and Concord marked the start of the American Revolution. On the night of April 18 1775 700 British troops started to march towards Concord to seize weapons the militia were storing. Paul Revere and other riders rode on horses to warn the militias. When the British got to Lexington 70 minutemen stood in their way when a shot went off both sides started to fire after that 8 minutemen were dead. When the British beat them at Concord the British retreated.

    On May 10 1775 a small force of Green Mountain boys led by Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold attacked a British fort the Patriots won this battle this helped the Patriots gain cannons and other artillery and weapons at the fort

    The battle of bunker hill was a turning point in the war. This showed to the British that it wouldn't be easy or quick to defeat the Patriots. At night the Patriots took control of the hill and during the night made a dirt wall. But Patriots were running low on ammo after they ran out of ammo the British took control of the hill but not before the Patriots wounded or killed over 2,000 British.

    The battle of Long Island was the first major battle after the U.S. declared it's independence. This was the biggest major battle of the American Revolution. This was also a major loss for the Patriots losing 20% of their army in deaths or captures

    The battle of Trenton was a win for a Patriots they captured or killed almost all of the Hessian forces. They also didn't lose very much troops during this battle. This also gave hope to the Patriots and their cause.

    The battle of Saratoga was a major turning point in the war this proved to the French that the Patriots were a cause worth fighting for. the battle lasted from September 19 - October 7 1777 . This was victory for the Patriots. The leader of the British surrendered after they were surrounded.

    The Battle of Monmouth was not a clear victory as after the British were stopped by Patriots from marching to New York but at one point at midnight A group of British went off and continued their march towards New York.

    The Battle of Cowpens was a huge victory for the the patriots as they only lost 25 men and the British lost over 100 . The British suffered major losses when over 800 men where captured .One reason was because while the British had only 1,100 men the Patriots had ove 2,000 men
