    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    First battle of the American revolution. The British were send to capture and destroy militia supplies that was reportedly stored in Concord. The colonist quickly got warned that the British were coming so they moved the militia supplies and Prepared to fight. Between the two fights 49 colonist and 73 redcoats (British soldiers) were killed.
  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    Battle of Fort Ticonderoga
    At dawn Benedict Arnold joined Ethan Allen and the Green Mountain Boys for a surprise attack against the British. The militia attempted and successfully took much of the artillery used in future battles. The Battle of Fort Ticonderoga was the first American victory of the Revolutionary War.

    George Washington lead his army across the Delaware river on Christmas. Over the next 10 day the patriots won two battles. In the battle of Trenton Washington defeated the British before withdrawing. A week afterward the patriots returned to Trenton to lure the British south. These victory's secured American control of New Jersey.

    There where two battle at Saratoga eighteen days apart. The British won the first battle, this was a small and costly battle for the British. The British again attacked the Americans on October seventh. This time the British were defeated and forced to retreat. The British surrendered ten day's later. The American victory convinced the French to enter the war as there ally.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    This battle took place in New Jersey. During the battle the weather did not cooperate very well it was very hot out when the battle took place. Although around the same number of soldiers fighting for each side the amount left after the war was nowhere near close. The British had over 900 killed or wounded and the American only had around 450 killed or wounded. There were many struggles during this battle which caused it to end in what most consider a draw.

    The Battle at Cowpens was a decisive win for the Americans. About 300 British were killed or wounded. About 200 colonist were killed or wounded. The battle was a turning point in the war's southern campaign.
  • Battle of York Town

    Battle of York Town
    This Battle was the most important battle in the Revolutionary war. Washington managed to block the escape of the British with the help of the French troops. After three weeks of nonstop battle. The British surrendered at Yorktown. This ended the war for independence.
