    The Battle of Lexington and Concord "started" the American Revolution. The British and Americans were British were in search of weapons and ammunition. The Americans won. 8 colonists were dead. The Battle of Lexington and Concord lasted about 4 hours.
  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    Battle of Fort Ticonderoga
    The Battle of Fort Ticonderoga was a conflict between Great Britain and the American colonies. Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold thought Fort Ticonderoga would be an easy target for the colonists. Fort Ticonderoga is 200 miles away from Boston. No one ended up dead.

    In the Revolutionary War, the British defeated the Americans in the Battle of Bunker Hill. About 2,200 Redcoats were killed or wounded in just 2 hours of fighting. The Battle of Bunker Hill is also known as the Battle on Breed's Hill. It was fought in Charlestown, now part of Connecticut.

    This battle took place in a South-West portion of Long Island, New York (aka, Brooklyn). George Washington was the commander for the Americans at the time. The Battle of Long Island is the first major war after the United States declared its independence.

    In the Battle of Trenton, George Washington and the American soldiers were fighting against the German Hessians. Almost the whole Hessian Army was captured. The Americans had about 1,000 more soldiers than the Hessians did. The Americans (Colonial Army) won. The Battle of Trenton took 10 days!

    The Battle of Saratoga is known as the turning point in the Revolutionary War. There were 2 battles in the Battle of Saratoga. One was fought on September 19, 1777 and the other on October 17, 1777. 240 American soldiers were wounded or killed. And 695 British soldiers were killed. The Battle of Saratoga lasted 18 days!
  • Battle of Monmouth

    Battle of Monmouth
    Battle of Monmouth was fought in Monmouth, New Jersey. The British were retreating from Philadelphia to New York, and crossing the Jersey's so Washington decided to fight. The Battle of Monmouth is commonly known as a draw. (No one REALLY won)
  • Battle at Cowpens

    The Battle at Cowpens took Place in South Carolina and lasted approximately an hour. Britain against America- Britain had about 1,150 soldiers and 110 were killed, more than 200 wounded, and 500 taken prisoner. Only 60 American soldiers were wounded.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    George Washington and the Continental Army defeated Lord Charles Cornwallis and the British Army. The Battle of Yorktown ended on October 19, 1781. 80 Americans were killed or wounded and 500 British were killed or wounded.
