  • Battle of Lexington and Concord

    Battle of Lexington and Concord
    The battle of Lexington and Concord is often referred to as the start of the American Revolution. A group 70 patriots waited for over 1000 Redcoats. After the battle started with a literal bang, 8 minutemen lay dead. After that the British marched on to Concord, taking heavy losses on the way due to a bridge skirmish. They started making their way back to Boston, taking more losses being attacked by hidden enemies. By the time they were back to Boston, at least 174 were wounded and 73 dead.
  • Battle of Fort Ticonderoga

    Battle of Fort Ticonderoga
    On may 10th of 1775, A militia group called the Green Mountain Boys Led by Ethan Allen and Benedict Arnold crossed the lake Champlain to capture Fort Ticonderoga. Though they had under 100 soldiers, the British were sleeping. Due to this the colonist's were able to quickly and easily capture the fort.
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    Battle of Bunker Hill
    On June 17th, 1775, British forces over 2,000 strong marched on Breeds Hill towards a Patriot held position. The 1,000 awaiting Patriot soldiers sent down a barrage of bullets down at the British troops. It took them three charges to get up the hill, but the British eventually won the battle. Although the Americans lost the battle, it was still a "moral victory" for the Patriots, as the British had taken heavy losses.

    Known as the first major battle of the Revolutionary war, the battle of long island was a victory for the British. The battle was fought at Guan Heights, unfortunately for the Americans, General Howe of the British army had brought his forces through the front and back. Due to this the Americans took heavy losses. But a few days later Washington evacuated all his supplies and soldiers from that area, lucky for him all the soldiers and supplies were unscathed.

    On December 26, 1776, General George Washington met a group of Hessian's (or German mercenaries). Though the hired army looked quite formidable, Washington outmaneuvered them and won the battle.
  • The battle of Saratoga

    The battle of Saratoga
    On September 19th, 1777, British general John Burgoyne won a small victory but suffered heavy casualties. with a now smaller fighting force, he attacked the Americans again at Bemis Heights on October 7th, but that time he was defeated and forced to retreat.
  • Battle of Monmouth

    Battle of Monmouth
    On July 28th, 1778, Patriot forces lead by George Washington attacked British forces in Monmouth New Jersey. Due to their smaller numbers, the Patriots attacked British forces from the rear (don't laugh, it doesn't meant butt), This did not lead to a victory surprising enough, but actually lead to a standstill.

    Battle at Cowpens
    On January 17th, 1781, American forces lead by Brigadier General Daniel Morgan attacked and routed British forces. The battle was a key victory for the Americans, mainly because it turned the tide of the war in favor of the Americans, but also meant they were one step closer to independence.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    On September 8th, 1781, A joint group of French and Patriot forces led by General George Washington marched on Yorktown to fight a force of 9,000 British troops. The French and Patriot groups had already prevented the British from leaving, so they were stuck in Yorktown. After nonstop bombardment from All around Yorktown, the British finally surrendered. This battle ended the War for Independence.
