    First battle of Revolutionary War. This battle started the fighting against British during the American Revolution.

    Green MountainBoys led by Ethan Allen capture British Fort Ticonderoga.
  • Bunker Hill

    British troops marched up the hill under command of Major General William Howe and attcked American troops under command of Colonel William Prescott. The Americans lost this battle but they weaked British forces.

    This was a battle between the army of George Washington and British Hessian troops led by Colonel Johann Rall. The Americans won this battle and gained supplies.

    Saratoga

    British forces led by General John Burgoyne fought two battles against American troops led by Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. The British won the first battle on September 19 but they were weakened by American troops. On October 7th British troops attacked again but were defeated and forced to surrender. American victory in this battle caused the French to join their cause in fighting the British.
  • Siege of Charles Town

    American troops led by Major General Benjamin Lincoln were defeated and forced to surrender to British troops led by Lieutenant General Sir Henry Clinton. 3,000 American troops were captured and many supplies were lost. Only 250 British troops were killed or injured.
  • Kings Mountain

    This was a battle between American Loyalists and American Patriots. The Loyalists were led by Major Patrick Ferguson. The Patriots were led by Colonel William Campbell. The Patriots won this battle against Loyalists. Loyalists tried to surrender but were killed instead by Patriots.

    In this battle George Washington led 17,000 British and American troops to victory against British troops led by General Lord Charles Cornwallis. This won freedom for Americans.
