    Fort Ticonderoga

    Commanding officers for colonist militia were Benedict Arnold, and Ethan Allen.The colonist had planned a surprise attack on the British occupied Fort, and on the day of May 10 1775, American forces captured he British garrison while they were still asleep. In 1777 British General John Burgoyne managed to place a canon in Mt. defiance and forced General Arthur to evacuate.

    Lexington and Concord

    Colonel Smith, Major Pitcairn, and Lord Percy were the commanding British officers. The milita or colonist were commanded by Barrett, Buttrick, Robinson and many others. The British were better equipped, with top weaponry and skill, and organization. The colonist milita had few guns and fough with any weapon they could find. The colonist milita managed to have less than 90 casualties while the Briths suffered over 250.

    Bunker (Breed's)Hill

    For the American militiamen Colonel William Prescott was in command. Major General William Howe and Brigadier General Robert Pigot commanded the British army. The British landed on the Charlestown Peninsula then marched in Breeds hill after the colonist had set up earthen fortifications. The British obtained a victory through outnumbering the Americans and the colonist running out of ammunition. The British suffered a greater deal of casualties than the colonist.

    Trenton/Princeton

    British forces under command of General Howe, had been driving the colonist south of New York, and eventually overran fort Washington in New York taking 2,000 American prisoners. General Washington commander of the colonist had to come up with a plan quick. He daringly planned an assault on the Hessians at Trenton. He used a three-prong attack flanking 1900 men and blocking with 700. Colonist used cannons, crossed the icy river and began the 19 mile march toward Trenton in the freezing winter.

    Battle of Saratoga(Bemis Heights)

    British commanded by General Burgoyne clashed with the larger colonist army commanded by General Benedict Arnold. Later they met at Bemis height and the colonist surround the British army of 5,000 with 20,000 men. This was huge turning point because the French saw this vitro and joined up with the colonist against the British.

    Siege of Charlestom

    This was the worst defeat in the war for the Americans General Benjamin Lincoln surrendered to British lieutenant Henry Clinton and his army of 10,000 at Charlestom SC. The British captured more than 3,000 patriots and in,y suffering 250 casualties.

    Patriot irregulars under Colonel William Campbell defeat torries under major Patrick Ferguson. The British loyalist were basically slaughtered on the Mountian in Charleston SC.

    Yorktown

    General Washington in command of 17,000 troops both French and Patriots against General Cornwallis and a contingent of 9,000 British troops at Virginia. This was the most important battle of the war and the patriots csme out successful. Eventually surrounding the Brits and bombarding them with canon fire for three days until General Cornwallis surrendered.
