    Lexington and Concord
    The British marched to Concord to seize and destroy the colonial militia's weapons. The militia was warned and ready. The British eventually fell back with the colonists still firing on them.

    Colonel Benedict Arnold and Ethan Allen led a small group of Green Mountian Boys on a loot of the British held Fort Ticonderoga. The cannons and weapons were used to supply the Amercian resistance.

    Battle of Bunker/Breed's Hill
    British forces surrounded colonial forces as they were besieging Boston. The British attacked the colonial forces that were trying to suprise the British; the colonial forces were forced to retreat when ran out of ammunition but not before inflicting heavy casualties on the British.

    Battles at Trenton and Princeton
    George Washington crossed the icy Delaware River to suprise to British mecenaries there. Over the next ten days, the Americans won victories that ensured contol over New Jersey and raised American unity and morale.

    The British won the first battle on the 17th, but the Americans won the 2nd 18 days later forcing British General John Burgoyne to surrender. This battle helped sway the French into joining colonial forces.

    British Major Patrick Ferguson and a group of Loyalist militia tried to retreat to Lord Cornwallis's army when they learned the colonist militia planned to attack them. The Americans caught up and surrounded the Loyalists inflicting heavy casualties, even killing Major Ferguson.

    Colonel Banastre Tarleton (British) was seeking a garrison of the Continental army led by Brigadier General Daniel Morgan; rather than risk being caught fording the Broad River, Morgan decided to face the British. It was a decisive victory for the Americans.
  • Surrender of Yorktown

    Surrender of Yorktown
    Colonial and French forces pinned General Cornwallis in Yorktown, Virginia from September 30th, 1781 until Cornwallis surrendered on October 19th. This was last major land battle in the American Revolution, as this defeat prompted Great Britian to officially end the conflict.
