The battles started when the British were marching to Concord because they were going to seize an arms cache. But Paul Revere and other riders warned the American and the militia was able to fight the British off and won the battles.

    The Battle of Bunker Hill occurred early on in the Revolutionary War. On this day many american were told to fortify Bunker Hill, but accidentally fortified Breeds Hill. Most of the fighting took place on Breeds Hill. The American were very low on ammo and were told not to fire until they saw the whites of the British soldiers eyes. Although the Americans lost this battle, they were still inspired by it due to the very many casualties they inflicted on the British.

    George Washington makes the last minute decision of crossing the icy Delaware Christmas night to get to the British troops, who were partying up a storm. On a span of 10 days, they fought the Battles of Trenton and Princeton. Washington did this because his troops were almost done with their terms. The Americans won these battles. General Howe, the general of the British troops, died with a note in his pocket, warning him of the American's attack that night.

    The Winter at Valley Forge was harsh and brutal for the American troops. Our troops had barely any supplies to keep them going throughout the winter. They ran low on food, blankets, and even shoes. Many starved and many died of disease and exposure. They also had to carry their own things due to the animals also dying due to starvation. It was a harsh winter and Washington broke down many times. But they pulled through and made it out.

    The Battles of Saratoga were fought 18 days apart. The first battle was won by the British and encouraged them to strike a second time even though they were tired and beat. The second time they attacked, they lost the battle and were forced to retreat. The defeat over the British was enough to convince the French to join the American cause of revolution. This was a major turning point in the war which led to our overall victory of the war.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    George Washington led his 17,000 troops to Yorktown, Virginia to bombard Cornwallis's 9,000 troops. It can be known as the most important battle of the Revolutionary War. Washington had his troops block off the British on land and the French Naval Fleet blocked of any exits off land. So the British were surrounded with no means of escape. After three weeks of non stop battling, Cornwallis finally surrendered.

    This was the Treaty between America and Great Britain, that showed that the British surrendered to the Americans. This showed that the Americans won the war and were a free nation. This shocked the world, no one had done this before, especially against the British, who were named the worlds biggest power.
