The Navigation Act
The Navigation Act were acts of Parliament for the Parliament to promote self-sufficiency of the British Empire by restricting the colonial trade to England for foreign imported goods. -
The End of the French and Indian War
Conflict between French Colonists and British Colonists ends. Britain gained all of French Canada from the result of the war in which the Treaty of Utrecht was signed for France and Britain. -

In December 1773, a group of colonists dressed as Native Americans dumped out tea into the as a protest on the tax on tea. -

The First Continental Congress
As tensions rose, representatives from 12 colonies gathered in Philadelphia in 1774. At the First Continental Congress, representatives discussed how to respond to Britain’s harsh moves against Massachusetts. -

New laws meant to punish the Boston Tea Party and to punish all of Massachusetts. -
The Second Continental Congress
The Second Continental Congress was the meeting of delegates from the American colonies to form a government together to make decisions about the war with Britain over American independence. -

During the battle of Lexington and Concord in Massachusetts, colonists went against the British soldiers which the British started the first shots of the American Revolution. -

George Washington’s army is in Valley Forge and must stay there with diseases and starvation. With lack of food his army was stuck 18 miles from Philadelphia which they failed to retake from the British. -
