In the first battle, the American Army tried to prevent the British to break their lines and join with their troops in Albany. The British failed. The second Battle the British were faced with a much more bigger Continental Army. This growth in the american army forced the British commander John Burgoyne to surrender.

    After the Battle of Treaton, Washington and the Americans became more confident in themselves after there victory. Washington has left some of his troops to build a fort at the Assanpink and led the rest of his army to Princeton. In Princeton, General Charles Cornwallis left 1,400 British troops under Lt.Charles Mawhood. With the General gone, Washington and his army launched an attack on the British and was able to escape before General Cornwallis can return with reinforcements.

For the British, the main goal was to take control of New York and isolate New England from the rest of the colonies. The British had a military professional,General Sir William Howe, to lead them and this advantage allowed the British to win this battle and gain control over New York.

    In the summer of 1777, British commander Sir William Howe had a goal to capture Philadelphia, Instead of taking his troops across New Jersey, he placed the on board ships. Washington learned of this and took his army to Chadd's Ford. However, William Howe moved his troops so it would look like they were trying to cross Chadd's Ford. Howe sent Charles Cornwallis and they launched an attack on the Americans. Due to this, Howe ended up capturing Philadelphia and Washington lost his battle.

    These treaties recognized America as an independent country. These treaties also encouraged trade between the two countries. The treaty of alliance provided military support for America against Great Britain.

Being concernced, Furgenson asked for reinforcments and the Americans attacked. The British counter atacks made the Americans withdraw, however the Americans came back and attacked once ore. Furgenson was shot dead off his horse and the the British surrendered.

    The Articles of Confederation was a plan of goverment organization that was a connecetion between the Inital goverment bt the Conteinenal congress and the federal goverment under the US onstitutuin. The article of confederation were written in 1776-77 amd adopted by congress on November 7, 1777. However, the articles were offically ratified by the states until march 1, 1781.

Greene was trying to prevent British Colonel Alexander Stweret from joinging forces with General Cornwallis. The American troops were outnumbered howver, the British troops withdrew to Charleston and remained their till the ned of the war.

The Continental army was joined by the French and surrounded the British. Surrounded and with lack of supplies, the British surrendered.

    In Newark, New York, an assembly of officers took place. Officers were upset with the Congress for not paying them as they promised. George Washington made a appearance at the congress. Washington stated that he had grown old and blind during his years in the military. His speech had no relevance because the officers realized that he had given more than them in the service of America. After Washington's speech, the officers had brought their faith back into the Congress.
