    On March 22nd, 1765 the British government passed an act that enforced a stamp duty on the colonists.
    (A duty is also called a tax)

    The colonists were forced to allow the British into their homes. They had to provide necessities and a place to live.

    On March 5, 1770, British soldiers and a mob of colonists attacked each other. There were 5 deaths.

    A tax on tea to reduce the amount of tea that was being shipped to the colonists. The tax was meant to help British East India Company.

    Boston Tea Party
    Colonists dressed up as Native Americans went aboard a ship at night that contained taxed tea and dumped all of it into the ocean.
  • Lexington and Concord

    Lexington and Concord
    The first battles in the American Revolution.
  • Bunker Hill

    A battle that was fought in the beginning part of our revolution.
  • Yorktown

    Yorktown
    The battle in which the colonists won and negotiated surrender.
  • Declaration of Independance

    Declaration of Independance
    A statement that announced America as a new country.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    A treaty between Britain and America that ended the revolutionary war. The British recognized that America's Independence.
  • The First Presedent

    The First Presedent
    George Washington became the first president of the United States after serving the colonies in the Revolution as a General. (I don't know the exact date)
