    400 more settlers arrived in Jamestown, on the way they lose supplies at sea. Many of these settlers were unprepared for the winter. By the summer of 1610, only 60 settlers survived.

    The first batch of tobacco is planted by John Rolfe, and becomes the savior of Jamestown.

    Diminishing relations between the Crown and Parliament leads to a civil war in England. Parliament wins in 1851.

    With Parliament winning the English Civil War, Charles I is executed.
  • Charles Town or "Charleston"

    Charles Town is founded and becomes the leading entry point for the slave trade. This unsettles the Spanish.
  • King Philip's War

    King Philip's War
    A man named John Sassamon is found dead. It is assumed by the Colonists that a Native Cheif, Metacom (or King Philip) is responsible for Sassamon's death. Three men were found guilty of Sassamon's death and were executed. Metacom responded to this by attacking the Colonists. Later, in 1676, the Colonists defeated Metacom and displayed is head in Plymouth.
  • Bacon's Rebellion

    After a plantation owner refused to pay debt to te Doug Indians fighting began. This fighting created a political crisis between Colonists and their governer, Sir William Berkley after he chose to be peaceful with the Indians rather than avenge the Colonists. This lead to a political rebellion lead by Nathaniel Bacon. It ended after Bacon died of sickness and after his followers surrendered to Berkley's men.

    The Pueblo Revolt
    Pope, a Puebloan religious leader lead a revolt against Spanish authorities in New Mexico. The Spanish Catholics were trying to purge the Natives of their religious practices. The Puebloans fought and killed 400 Spanish people, including priests.

    The Glorious Revolution

    The religious tolerance of Catholics caused many problems in England, especially for King James II. Parliament had offered te the Crown to Prince William of Holland and James II's daughter, Princess Mary. William invaded England and this caused James II to runway to France. This Revolution ended without bloodshed.
  • The Spanish King and Slavery

    King Charles II of Spain offers sanctuary to any escaped slaves if they swear loyalty to Spain and convert to Catholicism.
