    Christopher Columbus amoung many other explorers sailed across the Atlantic to get to India on a quicker route but insteaad landed on the Islands of The Caribeans and found The Americas Which began the huge wave of explorers to the United States of America from other counries in europe.

    Jamestown founded
    Four months after the Virginia company left from Europe they arived in America and went up a river near Chesapeake Bay and went to a small penninsula that was easily defendable and set up fort james which protected Jamestown named after their king James.

    Colonial Resistance
    The colonists began to fight against Eangland causing The French and Indian war. King George was faced with the debt from the war so he decided to raise taxes. The colonists fought by dumping the tea into the harbor in the Boston Tea Party. The Colonists were trying too disconnect from the other countries that were in control over them because if there was a war their economy would be destroyed due to their wars.

    When Parliment passed the Stamp Act and the Sugar Act it increased taxes causing the colonists to rebel against Eangland eventually causing America to become a free country.

In this Decleration it states directly that all men are created equal and we all have the right to pursuit happiess. The Decleration of Independence is the backbone of the US and everything that our government was found upon.

    The Second Great Awakening was a movement that stressed the dignity of the individual. There were two main groups the Transcendentalists and the Unitarians which brought Christianity to the slaves giving them hope for freedom. Abolition was a very important reform movement to this time period whuch was an attempt to end slavery.

    The War of 1812 had a huge effect on the economy of America. It allowed for America to seperate from Britain and create their own industry. This war also confirmed that we are a free country and can survive as a free country.

    The invention of the rail road helped to settle the wide movement of people to the western portion of the United States. Railroads caused took land from the farmers that were settling out west and making their buisnesses smaller becasue it was easier for people to get stuff from the store that came off the railroads instead of from local farmers.

    Manifest Destiny began the exoansion west to take land to look for an economic opportunity. The government annexed Native Americans and moved them into land that was designated for them. Manifest Destiny abled the colonists that moved west to discover gold in California sparking the gold rush to take place.

    The Seneca Falls " Decleration of Sentiments" layed out guide lines of equality for women that they felt that they were being deprived from.

    The Civil War began due to slavery disagreements between North and South portions of America causing the Abolition of slavery and the seceeding of states from America that wished to continue to have slavery.

    The Emancipation Proclamation
    The Emancipation Proclemation stated that on the 1st day of January 1863 that all slaves will now be free from any state in America. The emancipation proclemation created a list of states that were considered as an enemy of the US these states were: Arkansas,Texas,Lousiana,Mississippi,Alabama,Florida,Georgia,South Carolina, North Carolina, and Virginia.
    This proclemation was written by President Lincoln during the Civil War to attempt to make it end.

    The reconstructin of America after the Civil War caused there to be a readmitting of southern states if they passed the Fourteenth Ammendment which stated that slaves have the same rights and were now free.

    The Thirteenth Amendment on the US constitution provided freedom to the slaves in the US. This Amendmant gave the same rights to the slaves as the other people in America.

    The Fourteenth Amendment was a requirement to pass by the states that seceeded from the US to reenstated back into the country. This Amendment stated that the slaves had every right and that the states agreed apon to give them these rights that they deserved.

    The Chinese Exclusion Act banned any Chinese immigrants that came over had to be skilled workers like: students, teachers, merchants, tourists, and any Government Officials.

    The Battle of Wounded Knee
    General Custer and his men rounded up about 350 Native Americans and brought them to a camp at wounded knee creek. The next day the soldiers tried to take away their weapons and a shot was fired and every one of the Natives were killed in a matter of minutes.

    The Gentlemans agreement limited Japanese immigration to the US of unskilled workers in repeal of the San Fransisco segregation order that made Japanese stay and go to places they were only alowed in.

    Americanization was the belief that everyone that came to America should have the same beliefs as everyone else that was in America.
