    Columbus Discovered America

    On the day of October 11th, 1492, Christopher Columbus sailed with 3 ships. The Nina, Pinta, and the Santa Maria. On that day, what he thought was the West Indies, was actually the Americas.
    It's important because if he hadn't explored the Americas we wouldn't be here.

    John Cabot claims North America

    John Cabot claimed North America for England. If he had not done that, there might not have been an American Revolution. North America would not have had to pay taxes for the French and Indian war and there would not have been a revolution.

    The first English Colony of Roanoke,consisted 100 households and was founded in 1585, 22 years before Jamestown. It was important because it was the first colony with a government,.
  • Colonists found Jamestown

    British colonists founded Jamestown and named it after King James I. It's imporant because it was the first permanent settlement.
  • Landing of the Mayflower

    101 colonists landedin Cape Cod, Massachusetts and formed the first colony with a local government.
  • Salem Witch Trials

    The Salem Witch Trials were tests that accused people of witch craft and wizardry. This is important because of those trials they decided to seperate church and state.
  • French and Indian War

    Britain's victory permanently removed the French military threat to Britain's American colonies. Britain made the American colonists pay for all the daage so this made the colonits angry.
  • Boston Tea Party

    This was an act of rebellion against the "Intolerable Acts" and one of the major events that led to the start of the American Revolution.

    The American Revolution started in 1775 as a response to the Stamp Act of 1765. It was fought between the Kingdom of Great Britain and the thirteen British colonies on North America. If we had not won, we'd still be controled by Great Britain.
