Early History of America
On 6th September of 1620 a group of 102 pilgrims sailed from England to America, the new world on the ship the mayflower. The pilgrims left england because they wanted religious and political freedom. In the first winter was very cold and 45 people died from the extreme temperatures and from hunger.The Pilgrims Fathers cultivated the land and kept animals to buy and sell their skins. They thought all people were equal, so they had no slaves. -
The War Of Independencie
By he 1750s, the british had 13 colonies on the east coast of North America and about two and a half million colonist lived there.However, Britain was far away and the people of the colonies started to get angry because they had to pay very high taxes to the British government.Thomas Jefferson wrote the "Declaration of Independence".The americans won the far in october 1871.In 1789 George Washington was the first president.They called their colonies the United States. -
The civil war
There were big differences between the north and the south. In 1861 a terrible war started. At least 600,000 people died in this war. Abraham Lincoln is now the president of the U.S.A. He wants to end slavery. In 1861 the south has got their Confederacy. It´s got 11 states now. Richmond is the capital. In 1864 there are thousands of people dead for the war. In 1865 the North won the war in the end, after many terrible battles. -
Abraham Lincoln
Abraham Lincoln was elected 16th president of the USA. His party was the Republican Party. Was one of the best presidents. He spoke about rights and freedom. Five days after the war Lincoln was shot dead.
