    The Memphis Massacre is a seris of riots between blacks and whites in Mephis, Tenneessee. White civilians and police rampaged through black neighborhoods killing men, women, and children.

  • The 14th amendment was passed

    The 14th amendment granting citizenship to anyone born in the United States

  • The date Plessy v. Ferguson was decided

    Plessy v. Ferguson was a supreme court decision ruling that it was fine to have different races apart as long as it was separate but equal. It was the case that made segragation legal.

  • The date of Brown v. Board of Education

    The Brown v. Board of Education was the court case that banned segragation in schools. It marked the end of the JIm Crow era.
