The steam locomotive played a crucial part in the industrial revolution because it allowed us to move mass amounts of freight across land at rates that were unheard of prior to its invention. This invention connected parts of the world that would have taken months to travel to before. It also encouraged people to move to centralized cities.

People are now able to go from their home in North Carolina and drive to Miami Florida in one day. The personal automobile has also let people take jobs in other cities because commuting has became much easier and faster.

The first airplane was invented by two American brothers, Orville and Wilber Wright, in North Carolina 1903. Jan 1st 1914 was the first commercial flight with passengers. The airplane has made it possible to go from you home in the US to Australia in a days time for business or vacation. This has connected the entire world because anyone who has saved the money can go pretty much anywhere int he world.
