The Currency Act was when the British basically told the colonists that they could not print their own currency, and that they were to use British currency only. -
Proclamation of 1763
The Proclamation of 1763 was an Act that limited where the colonists could settle. The colonists found that the Proclamation was just another way for the English to control them, which they didn't take too kindly to. Naturally, the colonists didn't follow this law, and instead did the opposite. -

Sugar Act
During the time of the Sugar Act, the British were attempting to stop the "smuggling trade in sugar and molasses." (according to https://www.britannica.com/event/Sugar-Act). These goods were being smuggled from the French and Dutch West Indies. This event came after the French and Indian War. -
Stamp Act
The Stamp Act was the table-turner for the colonists. The Stamp Act was the first law to officially put taxes on the colonists without their consent. The tax was placed on all paper products. It stated that all printed documents were to be made with a special stamped paper in London, which would come at a fee. -
The Quartering Act 1765
The Quartering Act was a rule that forced colonists to let the British soldiers live in their homes for free. -
Declaratory Act
The Declaratory Act happened after the repeal of the Stamp Act. This stated that the same taxing laws for Great Britain applied to America as well. -
Townshend Act
The Townshend Act was a law that taxed everything that was taken to the American colonies. The colonists thought this act was an abuse of power since they still had no representation in Parliament. -
Boston Massacre
The Boston Massacre was a meeting between nine British soldiers and several hundred American colonists. Five colonists were shot and killed. -
Boston Tea Party
The Boston Tea Party was the colonists' response to "Taxation without representation." They got on a boat in Griffin's Wharf in Boston and dumped 342 chests of tea into the ocean. -
Intolerable Acts
The Intolerable Acts were a series of laws passed by the British Parliament after the Boston Tea Party. They were made as a punishment for the colonists in Massachusetts for what they did in Boston Harbor. -
Quartering Act 1774
This is, once again, a law permitting the British soldiers to seek shelter in the homes of the colonists. Only, this time, they allowed those with more authority to find these homes FOR the soldiers, rather than letting them pick for themselves. -
Quebec Act
The Quebec Act was made to get the majority of Quebec (that spoke French) to be loyal to them. The biggest deal for this Act was that the French could worship however they pleased and that they would get their property rights would be renewed.
