    they were valuable because of their color, lustre, ductility, malleability, and durability
    Copper was used in pots, coins, and jewelry. they could not be used as weapons because it was too soft

    the discovery of bronze was by accident
    together the substances were strong and less brittle.

    They combined iron with carbon and made steel
    steel made sharper blades
    and stronger armour
