A slave named dred scott was a slave in a free state. His master was married to a women an when he died dred stayed with his widow. But dred Wanted to be free with his family so he petitioned to get his freedom. But they said no so he went back to the court a second time and presented them with a new case. In the end he got his freedom but they said he wasnt a citizen of the USA because he was black. -
