A Midsummer Night's Dream

  • Theseus and Hippolyta are getting married

    Theseus: Now, fair Hippolyta, our nuptial hour draws on apace.
  • Egeus's daughter disobey's his will and he wishes to force her into an ultimatum.

    Egeus: Full of vexation come I, with complaint against my child... I beg the ancient privilege of Athens.
  • Lysander desides to flee with Hermia to the woods to escape the law.

    Lysander: Steal forth thy father's house tomorrow night; and in the wood... there I will stay for thee.
  • Helena is upset that Demetrius loves Hermia instaed of her.

    Helena: Call you me fair? That fair again unsay. Demetrius loves your fair. O happy fair!
  • Hermia shares her plan with Helena

    Hermia(to Helena): Lysander and myself will fly this place... and in the wood... there my Lysander and myself shall meet.
  • Helena decides to tell Demetrius about Hermia's plan

    Helena(regarding Hermia's plan): I will go tell him[Demetrius] of fair Hermia's flight... to have his sight thither and back again.
  • Quince announces the play his group will perform

    Quince: Our play is, "The most lamentable comedy, and most cruel death of Pyramus and Thisby."
  • Puck discusses Oberon's conflict with Titania over the servant she loves

    Puck: Oberon is passing fell and wrath... jealous Oberon would have the child Knight of his train... but she perforce withholds the loved boy.
  • Oberon tells Puck to get a flower that induces love between a person and the first person they see upon waking up

    Oberon: Fetch me that flow'r... the juice of it on sleeping eyelids laid will make or man or woman madly dote upon the next live creature that it sees.
  • Helena follows Demetrius into the woods to find Hermia and Lysander

    Helena(to Demetrius): I'll follow thee, and make a heaven of hell.
  • Oberon tells Puck to make Demetrius fall in love with Helena

    Oberon(to Puck): A sweet Athenian lady is love with a disdainful youth. Anoint his eyes; but do it when the next thing he espies may be the lady.
  • Oberon puts the flower juice on Titania

    Enter Oberon and squeezes the flower on Titania's eyelids.
  • Puck accidentally puts juice on Lysander instead of Demetrius

    Puck(to a sleeping Lysander): ...upon thy eyes I throw all the power this charm doth owe.
  • Lysander wakes up and falls in love with Helena

    Lysander: Where is Demetrius? O, how fit a word is that vile name to perish on my sword!... Not Hermia but Helena I love.
  • Titania wakes up and falls in love with Nick Bottom, who is now a donkey

    Titania(to Bottom): On the first view to say, to swear, I love thee.
  • Oberon tells Puck to draw Helena to a sleeping Demetrius, who he will make fall in love with her

    Oberon: By some illusion see thou bring her here. I'll charm his[Demetrius] eyes against she do appear.
  • Demetrius wakes and falls in love with Helena

    Demetrius: O Helen, goddess, nymph, perfect, divine! To what, my love...
  • Puck makes Lysander fall back in love with Hermia

    Puck(to Lysander): When thou wak'st, thou tak'st true delight in the sight of thy former lady's eyes... all
    shall be well.
  • Oberon commands Puck to revert all of the Athenians back to how they were and make them forget it all happening

    Oberon: And, gentle Puck... That, he awaking when the other do, may all to Athens be back again repair, and
    think no more of this night's accidents.
  • Theseus arrives in the forest and tells Hermia, Lysander, Demetrius, and Helena to meet in the temple to be wed

    Theseus: For in the temple, by and by, with us these couples shall eternally be knit.
  • Nick Bottom gets his crew ready to play at the palace

    Bottom: Get your apparel together... meet presently at the palace.
