    The Election of 1800 was between John Adams and Thomas Jefferson.Federlist attacked Jeffferson.While the Republicans objected against Adams.The electoral votes were fairly close. Jefferson had 73 and Burr had 73.The House of Representatives carried out the tie-breaking vote.Federlists blocked Jefferson by voting for Burr for president.Alexander Hamliton arranged the vote for Jefferson.All though he didn't like either one but he rather have Jefferson as president. Jefferson was the 3rd president.
  • Marbury v. Madison Supreme Court Decision

    Marbury v. Madison Supreme Court Decision
    President Jefferson, the new president, refused the appointment with Marbury. Madison refused to deliver Marbury's commission. Marbury sued Madison.The Supreme Court took the case.Chief Justice John Marshall wrote the Judiciary Act so that sertain commissions should not be sent out. The Supreme Court said that this Act was illegal. So The Supreme Court did not side with either Marbury or Madison.

    The Louisiana Purchase was a deal between Spain, France, and the United States. Spain owned the land at first and sold it to the French. Napoleon Bonaparte I represented the French and bought the land. Spain had the control of the Mississippi River. The Louisiana Purchase also included other states. Napoleon wanted to sell the land because he thought it was useless. He needed the money to win the war with Great Britian. Jefferson bought the land. He wanted control over the Port of New Orleans.

    Lewis & Clark reach the Pacific Ocean
    On the morning of November 7th Lewis and Clark and their crew have finally seen the ocean. Since the beginning of the travel from the Mississippi River, it has been 4,162 miles.They decides to spend the winter on the southern side of the Columbia.Lewis and Clark and the rest of the Corps carve your names intoa tree,saying that you have arrived "by land from the United States."
  • Treaty of Ghent

    Treaty of Ghent
    The Treaty of Ghent was the peace treaty that ended the War of 1812. Great Britian gave up the land of the Northern Territory. The United States and Great Britian agreed to work together to help stop slave trade. The treaty was signed in Ghent, Belgrium on December 24, 1814. Unfortuantly, it was hard for armies to get in and around New Orleans because of the slowness of communication prevented word of peace. The American forces under Jackson won the battles of New Orleans.

     Andrew Jackson Elected President (1st Term)
    Jackson was in office in March 4, 1829 to March 4, 1837. Jackson was the seventh president of the United States. He was the military governor. He was also the commander of the American forces at the Battle of Orleans. He was nicknamed "Old Hickory". Jackson was the first president to join with the American frontier. The First Election of 1828, Jackson had more votes but had no candidate. So the House of Representatives chose Quincey Adams as president.
