    Matt Perry left from Norfolk Virgina to visit Japan in the year 1852 because he was in search of a japanese trade treaty. When he reached Japan he enterd Morden day Tokyo. When Perry returned to the United States in 1855, Congress voted to grant him a reward of $20,000 in appreciation of his work in Japan. Matt went to Japan in the first place becasue he wanted Japan to open trade with the west. Japan obtained guns from Perry and the west.

    The Sepoy Mutiny occured on May 10, 1857 it happend becaused The Sepoy who were soliders that were trained by British soldiers. The sepoy soldiers heard rumors that there cartridges for there new rifels greased with lard and beef fat. Cows are sacred to Hindus and pigs are sacred to muslims. So the people revolted and fought to the death against the officers.

Over Manchuria and Korea The Russians wanted a warm water port from the Yellow Sea. Many camgians were set out for both countries in this war but in the end result a peace treaty was signed.
