    Discovering America

    Columbus was the name of the man who discovered the great America with the three ships he had from the Spanish port from Palos. (The Nina, The Pinta, The Santa Maria) were the name of the ships.
  • Merchantilism

    Held a nation's power was a product of wealth and a nations wealth was measured by its stock of precious metals.
  • First English settlement

    There were 105 men that sailed up the stream from England and began a settlement named "The Jamestown" which was the first English colony to only have success in America.
  • Sugar Act

    This was adding tax to Molasses and Suger and other items such as (coffe, sugar, lumber and iron etc.) This hurt the British indies cause the French West had it cheaper. It was six pence per gallon until Grenville made adjustments so then it became three pence per gallon, but more items were added to have tax.
  • Boston Massacre

    The Intolerable Acts or the Coercive Acts were names describe a series of five laws passed by the British Parliament in 1774. Britain's colonies in North America. The acts triggered outrage and resistance in the Thirteen Colonies that later became the United States, and were important developments in the growth of the American Revolution.
  • Whiskey Rebellion

    The U.S began in dept of the Revolution in order to pay the dept off the put taxes on "spirits" as they called it which is Whiskey. This was all done by Alexander Hamilton. The west rufused to pay. The excise collectors were threatned in different ways. Since the west strongly disagreed with this they Burned down the house of the Federal tax collector John Neville as this they see who was against their rebellion. George Washington sent 12,950 troops area to quell the Rebellion.

  • Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

    War gave the U.S. title to lands from Texas to the
    Pacific and north to Oregon territory.
  • Fugitive Slave Act

    Fugitive slave act was a big deal in the U.S it was a group called "Compromise of 1850" the antislavery abolitionists gained California as a free state and slave-trading, this was also common in Texas this continued commonly and then it all came down to a thing called the Underground Railroad it had over 3,000 homes and "stations" so called. This was a passage to get to Canada. September 18, 1850 this was the date Slavery ended.

    Civil war for a reason of dealing with taxes. Abraham wanted to tax the South much more then the North would be taxed; so the Southern thought it would be necessary to secede to save them from being over taxed.

    This conflict involved all of the world's great powers.
    Known as The Allies and Central powers, there were 9 million Europeans killed because of the technology the Allies had.
  • Missouri Compromise

    1818 Missouri became it's own state and the people of Missouri wanted to make it another slave state but the Congressmen of the North disagreed. In 1820 an agreement called the Missouri Compromise that allowed Missouri to come into the Union as a slave state and Maine would be a free state.
