    King George the 3rd passed a law that the appalachian mountains were the western boundaries for the colonies. They did this after the end of the French and Indian war, and it infuriated the colonists. Many were masd because they had land beyond the mountains and couldn't go to it.

  • Taxation Without Representation

    Great Britain taxed everything because they were in debt from the war, and needed money. It made the colonists very mad.
  • Sugar Act

    Parliament passed a law that tlowered taxes on imported molasses to stop smuggling and to increase tax revenue. It made the colonists very mad and many protested.
  • Quartering Act

    The parliament punshined colonist and got money fro soldiers because the colonists were neglecting and refusing to do their duties. Once again, it made the colonists angry.
  • Stamp Act

    Parliament placed a law that taxed almost all printed items in the colonies. They did it because Britain was still and debt and they wanted power. It made the colonists furious.
  • Declaratory Act

    Parliament passed a law stating that the government had the right to tax and make decisions for the colonists. They did this to gain control back from the colonists. The colonists were angry and complained and protested.
  • Townshend Act

    The parliament put taxes on all imported goods. They were trying to make the colonists happy, but instead they outraged them and the colonists boycotted British goods.
  • Boston Massacre

    The colonists protested to British soldieers accussing them of things and the British fough them and killed many. The colonists were very very mad and used it as propoganda against the British.
  • Tea Act

    Parliament decided to ship tea to the colonies and sell it cheap in hopes of gaining profit for the East India Trading Company. The colonists were angry because they were undercutting local merchants.
  • Boston Tea Party

    The Sons of Liberty, disguised as indians, threw 342 chests of tea into the harbour because the citizens refused to unload the tea. The colonists were ecstatic and celebrated in the streets.
  • Coercive (Intolerable) Acts

    King George the third closed off the harbour until the colonists could pay back the tea in hopes of punishing the colonists for the Boston Tea Party. The colonists were really mad because they were isolated.
  • 1st Continental Congress

    55 representatives from every colony except 4 of them went to Philedelphia to make a congress to represent the Americans. They wanted to gain liberty and formed militias to help the congress.
