  • Proclamation of 1763

    It was made by King George the Third. It declared that the Appalachian Mountains were the boundries for colonies. It was casued by the end of the French and Indian War. The end of this war caused the United States to set a boundary for there coloines, so that he Native Americans had land o settle. The coloinsts were unhappy with this proclamation. Many were angry because they owned land west of the mountains.
  • Taxation without Representation

    With this act Great Britian placed a tax on everything.Great Britain did this in an effort to decrease their National Debt. This also made the colonists mad.
  • Sugar Act

    It was created by the Prime Minister of Great Britian. It lowered taxes on imported mollases, as well as allowed officers to confiscated smuggled goods without going to court. The Prime Minister created it in an effort to increase tax revenue, by stopping smuggling.The coloinist were angry, and felt that their rights as englishmen were being violated.
  • Stamp Act

    This act placed taxes on all printed items. It was created by parliement because Great Britain was still in debt and it needed money. Great Britian also wanted to regain its power over the colonies. The Stamp Act angered the American Colonists.
  • Quartering Act

    This act allowed not only the payment of army members, but it also allowed army members to be punished for refusing to do their jobs. This act was created because many of the army members were neglecting to do their jobs. This made the colonists upset.
  • Declaratory Act

    This act was passed by the Britsh Parliament. It stated that Parliament had the right to not only tax, but to also make discisions for the colonies. This act was created because the Stamp Act had just been repealed and Great Britian needed to regain its control of the colonies.
  • Townshend Act

    This act was passed by the British Parliament. It was a set of taxes on all imported goods. It was passed to try to make the colonists happy, however the colonists were angered. so the stopped buying Britsh goods.
  • Boston Massacre

    This massacre involed the Boston colonists and the British. It occured when a group off colonists protestted to the British soldies, but were killed. The colonists protested because of the thingss that the soldiers were doing. Thiss mass killing was used as propaganda against the British, but the colonists were also outraged.
  • Tea Act

    The Tea Act was passed by Parliament, so that the East India Trading Co. could profit. It stated that tea was to be shippe dto the colonies and sold cheap, so that the colonists would buy it from them instead of from each other. The act made the colonists furious, because it undercut local merchants.
  • Boston Tea Party

    On December 16, 1773 the Sons of Liberty duisguished themelves as Native Americans and threw 342 chests of tea overboard, and into the Boston Harbor. The Sons of Liberty did this to protest the taxes Great Britian was placing and goods. The colonists celebrated the bravery of the Sons of Liberty.
  • Coercive ( Intolerable Acts )

    These acts were passed by King George lll and Parliament. The act stated that the Boston Harbor was to be closed until the Boston colonists could pay for the amount of tea lost in the Boston Tea Party. King George did this because he wanted to punish the colonists for their rebelious acts. The act made the colonists angy because it isolated them.
  • The First Continental Congress

    On September 5, 1774 fifty-five delagates from each colony, but Georgia, met to form the First Continental Congress. It was an orgiaztion to represent the American people. They formed it because they wanted to gain freedom from Great Bitian. The colonies formed militias to help the congress.
