    Lord Baltimore became the proprieter. Located in Chesapeake Bay.

  • The colony of Rhode Island is founded.

    Roger Williams insisted that the colonies had no right to take native american lands by force, no one should be forced to attend church, the Puritans should not impose thier beleifs on others, and the church and state should be kept seperate.

  • New Hampshire and Maine are founded.

    Massachusetts settlers left to join the two new colonies.
