    the Ku Klux Klan is a racist, anti-Semitic movement against blacks, mainly in the south. it was founded by a few Confederate Civil War veterans- Captain John C. Lester, Major James R. Crowe, John D. Kennedy, Calvin Jones, Richard R. Reed, Frank O. McCord. they belived that whites were above the black people and they should be segregated. this was not a peaceful movement and it led to many volient outbreaks and Numerous innocent people killed.

    on may 10 1869 the railroad had its last spike drove in. this joned the pacific and central pacific tracks. Collis P. Huntington, Charles Crocker and Mark Hopkins were the four main men envoled in briging the railroad together they were also known as the big four. the railroad connected the 2000 miles to the Missouri River.

    A few Ger. states led by Prussia defeated France in the Franco-Prussian war. Many thought that the french would come out with a victory but the few germans defated the french power. The Franco-Prussian War ushered in a new era in warfare. Breachloading Prussian Dreyse Needle-guns and French Chassepots took the place of the out of date and uneffective older muzzle-loading rifles. The French side lost 140000 while the germans only lost 100000 the winning of this war created a unified Germany.

It gave the President the right to use federal forces to enforce the law.

    the Phonograph was first invented by tomas edison in 1877. the phonograph was the first invention to play back a human spoken message. the very first recording that was played wa " marry had a little lamb ". instead of playing discs it played cylinders . When you spoke into the mouthpiece, the sound vibrations of your voice would go onto the cylinder by the recording needle.

A group of 38 Hunkpapa Lakota under the leadership of Spotted Elk's (Big Foot) were escorted by the U.S. 7th Cavalry Regiment commanded by Major Samuel M. Whitside to Wounded Knee Creek. the army was collecting the natives guns when A scuffle over one of the idians guns took place indians the still with guns began to shoot back but were killed.

    A group of pesants formed a group called the I-ho ch'üan ("Righteous and Harmonious Fists"), called the "Boxers" by Westerns. they were called the boxers because the mebers practiced boxing and calisthenic rituals, they belived this would make them unpentertrable to bullets. they first wanted to bring an end to the ming dynasty but when pushed back they choose a differnt type of attack and wanted to rid china of the foreigners. the Boxers manged to kill many foreigners before they were stopped.

    Wilson and Congress were the fathers that created this act. it was passed by the Senate by a 43-5 vote on September 8th, 1914 and, it was passed by the House on September 10th. the act established the Federal Trade Commission. the FTC was made up of five members appointed by the President of the United States for seven year terms. the act gave congress more flexibilty in judical matters.
