Boston Massacre
This was a fight between colonists and the British. This fight basically started the Revolutionary War because three colonists were killed by British soldiers. The British soldiers were almost prosecuted. They weren't because of John Adams. -
Boston Tea Party
The Sons of Liberty marched to Boston and they were dressed up. When they got bye with their costumes they went on three British ships. After that they just dumped all the tea into the Boston Harbor. -
Battle of Lexington and Concord
The Battle of Lexington and Concord was faught because the British stole weopens from Lexinton. During the war the first shot was fired and it was known as "the shot heard around the world". This war was the first conflct of the Revolution. -
Battle of Bunker hill
The Battle of Bunker HIll was fought between the Americans and the British. General William Howe made a mistake that would change the way the war went. The British ended up winning but they had a heavy loss of over 1000 redcoats. -
Battle of New York
The British won the battle of New York. They won because they surrounded the Americans from all three sides of New York. So the Americans stayed and fought until they had to retreat because they were so much out numbered. -
Declaration of Independence signing
After the Declaration of Independence was approved, people started to sign the Declaration of Independence. This helped to declare independence from Great Britain. It also helped to go up against King George III. -
Battle of Trenton
Washington lead his army back over the Delaware river and attacked the British from three differnt directions and won the battle. This battle was an important win for Washington and his men. -
Battle of Princeton
The Americans beat the British. The Americans won because of Washington's great plan to sail back across the Delaware river and attack the British forces and it worked. The Americans forced British troops to surrender. -
Battle of Saratoga
The British lose this battle. They lost because the Americans forced them to surrender. This battle proved that the Americans could still win the war. There were two battles in Saratoga. The first battle took place in Saratoga and the second battle took place in Bemis Heights. -
Valley Forge
Valley Forge was a camp for the Continental Army in the Winter. In camp all the people of the Army got small pox. Washington and some scientists cured the troops by putting a smaller dose of the small pox virus into where the person had scratched. After that Washington hired Baron Von Steuben to train his army. -
Battle of Yorktown
The British surrender to the Continental Army. They surrendered because Washinton cornered them in Yorktown and the French helped the Americans by stopping Cornwallis from getting out to sea. -
Treaty of Paris
This Treaty basically ended the Revolutionary War. Three people signed it, Ben Franklin, John Adams, and John Jay. Britian had to take their troops out of the Nation. It also set boarders for the U.S.A..
