Exposistion 1-Background
Mella, the main character, is at the Inn, which her mother and father own. and is gathering eggs from the dragons in their pen. Mella does this because she is the one with the "dragon touch". As she does this she is talking to the dragons as she gathers the eggs from underneath. -
Exposistion 2-Setting
In the book, Dragon's Egg, Mella lives on a farm in an Inn. At the inn there is a dragon's pen where Mella, who has the "dragon touch" can get the eggs. It is almost at the end of winter. -
Rising Action 1
Roger and Mella, who became friends, are told, by a wild dragon, that they have to keep the dragon's egg warm or the dragon inside the egg will die. They are also told not let to let it fall in the wrong hands. On their journey to the Hatching Grounds, where they will release the egg, they run into the problem of food diminishing, fatigue, and quenching thirst. -
Rising Action 2
Along the way on the journey Mella finally finds a small and inexpensive cottage whrere she and Roger can stay for the night. As they approach they are treated, so far, kindly by the groundkeeper and cottage manager. -
Rising Action 3
While taking a nap from their journey, Mella is suddenly taken from the room, still unconsious, and tied to a chair where Roger is waiting for her, also unconsious. When they finally wake up they are surprised to see each other there, tied to chairs. Mella starts to worry about worrying her parents. -
Rising Action 4
Mella finds out that Rogers parents are rich and that they are kidnapped because of his family. Alain plans to hold Roger for a high ransom. -
Rising Action 5
While being kidnapped Alain, their kidnapper and hotel keeper, goes to sleep and Roger and Mella meet a herd of wild dragons. As this goes on Alain finally starts to wake up, not realizing that there are dragons in the room. But when Alain trips over one of the dragon's tails there is a fury of fire, fists, and flames. -
Rising Action 6
When they finally escape Roger and Mella find this sheppard who is trying to call down the lamb in the eagles nest. So Rogerr climbs up the tree and rescues the lamb while being pecked and poked by the eagle who owns the nest. As Roger falls out of the tree, he befriends the shepard who takes care of the lamb. -
Rising action 7
Mella is feeling wrong about leaving the herd of dragons at the inn. She felt that it was her duty to never leave the dragons. In Mella's opinion, her grandmother was the best dragon keeper you could ever meet. Mella starts to worry about the Inn because her mother would cook breakfast with the dragon's eggs. Mella imagines her mother in the kitchen going berserk because the dragon's egg and Mella aren't there. -
Climax
When Mella and Roger go to Gwyns house, the shepppard, they meet his wife and friend. When his friend brings over another friend they find out that it is Alain, their kidnapper from earlier. -
Falling Action 1
When they, Roger and Mella, finally come over their shock of Alain being there, Mella rudely asks what he is doing there. Alain tries to claim her as his neice who ran away. -
Falling Action 2
Mella comes back for the egg that she had lost from her escape from the house. As Mella comes back for the egg Mella is almost caught but as she gathers the egg in her bundle of bags she sees something in the corner of her eye that makes her pause and then whatever she saw went away in the blink of an eye. -
Falling Action 3
When Mella and Roger meet Gywn, on the road, Gwyn tells them to run and escape. Roger and Mella are ,literally, fleeing for their lives. -
Falling Action 4
While being on the run from Alain and the people trying to get the egg, Mella and Roger finally are safe but in the middle of nowhere. As they start to realize that they have been gone too long, for their parents liking, they start to realize they come from completely diferent parts of society. -
Resolution 1
Roger and Mella finally get to hatching grounds to relaese the egg. They are each given gifts to show that they are friends of the dragons. People back home, well for Mella, believe that the dragons that Mella and Roger met aren't real. -
Resolution 2
Roger finally goes home to his family. Mella is surprised that Roger could come from such a rich family. Mella is feeling a bit small because she is just a liitle farmer's daughter. Roger;s family has probably never heard of her home, let alone her village. Mella thinks that Roger's family could care less about her village.
