Exposition 1: Background

Mella is a dragonkeeper at an inn owned by her parents. She is very good with dragons and was taught this talent by her granmother, gran, who died a few years ago.

Exposition 2: Setting

This story takes place at the inn her parents own. It takes place in medieval times.

Exposition 3: Characters

The characters introduced at the beginning of the story were:
Mella- She is the main character she is very good with dragons. She gathers the dragons eggs everyday to make breakfast for the people staying at the inn
Lilla- She is Mellas sister
Mama- She is Mellas mother who runs the inn and is said to be a great cook
Da- He is Mellas father who also runs the inn
Roger- He is the "servant boy" to the Knight of the Order of Defenders
Damien Damerson- This is the Knight of the Order of Defenders

Rising Action 1: Conflict

1000 CE
Mella takes a rock which turns out to be a dragons egg. When she comes to return the egg to the dragon she finds him stabbed and about to die. She makes a promise to him to keep it safe and deliver it to the hatching grounds. She now has to go on a journey to the hatching grounds.

Rising action 2

A man named Alain who worked at the inn that Mella and Roger were staying at kidnapped them and tied them to a tree in the woods.

Rising Action 3

Mar 4, 1000

After they escape from Alain, Mella and Roger find the river that the dragon said to follow to the hatching grounds and it gives them hope to get to their destination.

Rising Action 4

Mar 4, 1000

Mella and Roger meet a sheperd and agree to save a baby lamb from a bird in order for a place to stay. So Roger has to climb up a cliff and take the lamb from the bird.

Rising Action 5

Mar 4, 1000

Alain is also staying with the sheperd and lies to them about being Mellas uncle. He also says that she is a theif and that she has stolen the dragons egg.

Rising Action 6

Mar 5, 1000

Gwyn the sheperd finally believes them about Alain lying and has agreed to help them deliver the egg but Alain finds them while they are sleeping. Gwyn stays and fights him while Mella and Roger go on without him.

Rising Action 7

Mar 6, 1000

Mella gets caught in a river with strong currents and loses the egg but Roger finds it on the bank of the river.

Resolution 2

Mar 6, 1000

The army retreats and they do not attack the dragons.

Climax

Mar 6, 1000

Mella and Roger find a cave built into a mountain in the woods that has the dragon marking on it and they realize that they are at the hatching grounds.

Falling Action 1

Mella and Roger walk down a hallway and find dragons to deliver the egg to.

The egg hatches!!!!!

Falling Action 3

Rogers father, King Astor, arrives with his army because he thinks that his son is being attacked by the dragons.

Falling Action 4

Mella has to stay on top of a cliff while she waits for Roger to convince his father that the dragons are not harming them and that the army should retreat.

Resolution 3

Mella and Roger recieve pendants from the queen dragon for their heroic duties.

The King and his army finally understand that the dragons mean no harm.
