They basically started in 221 when a king from qin made himself emprorer. I pulled three facts from the text so here they are, the emprorer changed his name so that it meant first emprorer, They emprorer changes the Zhou rules and refused to share his power with anyone, and lastly he made nable families to move to the capitol. -

The Zhou dynasty
in 1100's the shang dyanstys rulers were overthrown in rebellion the rebels from teh west then took their place this was the beggining of the Zhou dyansty. they claimed taht they were chosen by heaven to rule China, they were the longest lasting dyansty in chinese history they lasted 1100's - 771 BC, and lastly the emperors gave land to people in exchange for loyalty and military service. Warring states period is when the political system broke down and fights were happening. -

The shang dynasty
The shang dynasty was the strongest in the Huang He valley, they made China's first writing system made with 2,000 symbols, and lastly they were able to make axes knives and ornaments form jade. They were officially established in the 1500's
