    Michael Jordan was born on Febuary 17th, 1963. His parents were James and Deloris Jordan. He was born in Brooklyn, New York. He would later move to North Carolina, where he would be raised to be a studious, hard working, determined, basket ball star. He developed his love of sports from his father, and they would be a key factor in his upbringing.

    Michael Jordan's Father was a key factor in Michael's sports abilities. He also taught Michael to be dedicated and hard working. Michael often looked up to his father for advice and support during shooting slumps or rough periods in his career. Unfortunately, James Jordan was shot to death and robbed on July 3rd, 1993.

    Michael Jordan's mom knew that her son was a great athlete, but she wanted him to be smart as well. She always stressed education to him. Growing up, his Mother enforced a "homework before playtime" policy. In College, she was more concerned about his education than his basketball. Michael Jordans mother just wanted to ensure that her son had more options than basketball.

    In the year Michael Jordan was born, John F. Kennedy was assassinated. The country of America was shocked and saddened. Lee Harvey Oswald was the assassin who was guilty of the crime. He was killed on July 16th, 1969. Michael Jordan would never be able to have this great man as a president.

    When Michael Jordan was 6, Neil Armstrong became the first man to walk on the moon. This was a great accomplishment for NASA. Man had pioneered a way to the moon! Neil Armstong changed space history on July 16th, 1969. "One small step for Man, one giant leap for Mankind."

    Believe it or not, Michael Jordan did not make the varsity team in highschool. This was due to his highschool coach. He kept him on the highscool team to get him more experience and playing time. By doing this, Michael Jordan became a better player and improved the JV team. Michael Jordan was such a good player that his coach decided to send him to 5 star camp, a three week long camp that lets the best of the best compete against each other. This changed his career.

    Michael Jordan was arguably the best player in the college basketball league in 1984. He, along with the other great college players, formed the 1984 olympic team. You had to be in college to play on the team because the NBA players were not allowed. Michael Jordan wore the jersey number 9 in the 1984 olymppic games. They were so good they won the gold that year, a major accomplishment for any rising star.

    Michael Jordan received many awards throuought his career, but few, if any other basketball players have won 6 MVPs. He recieved Playoff MVP 3 times and Regular Season MVP 3 times. He was awarded Playoff MVP in 1991, 1992, and 1993. He recieved regular season MVP in 1988, 1991, and 1992. That's 6 MVPs total! In 1991 and 1992, he was awarded both MVPs, an incredible feat.

    Winning an NCAA championship is a goal shared by most NBA players. Michael Jordan had wanted to win an NCAA championship ever since he had been playing pro basket ball. But, his team, the Chicago Bulls, was not very good and Micael Jordan was by far their best player. When the team recruited Scottie Pippen and Horace Grant, Michael Jordan got the help he needed and the Bulls won a championship. He was so overjoyed that he cried! The Bulls went on to win 3 more championships.

    In 1992 the rules were changed for the olympics. 4 years ago, you had to be in College to play on the olympic team. Now, players from the NBA were aloud to play as well. That's when the dream team was formed. This team was even better than the first and claimed the gold too! The dream team consisted of players like Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, and Michael Jordan.

    Having loved baseball as a child, Miochael Jordan decided to try it after death of his father and retirement from the NBA. Unfortunately, while Michael Jordan could play outfield and run the bases, he was by no means a the best hitter. Michael Jordan had hoped to go straight to the major leagues, but he was just not good enough. So he played for the Barons, a minor league team, to get expirience and practice. He played with the Barons for two seasons. He then quit and returned to basketball.

    When Michael Jordan was 38, Al-Qaeda terrorists crashed into the world trade center. They flew three planes into three buildings. Two went into the Twin Towers, and the other crashed into the Pentagon. Civilians fought the terrorist piloting the fourth plane to gain control. They landed it in an open Pennsylvania field. The terrorist attack killed thousands and scarred many more.

    Michael Jordan is currently living in Highland Park, Illinois. He has two sons, Jeffery and Marcus Jordan, and a daughter, Jasmine Jordan with Juanita Vanoy. Unfortunately, they filed for divorce in 2006. Michael Jordan is a very sucsessful entrapreneur and owns the Charlotte Bobcats. On Christmas Eve, 2011, he proposed to his Cuban-American girlfriend, Yvette Prieto, and is engaged to be married.
