    The civil war ended in 1865 along with the end of slavery.
  • Trancontinental Railroad

    Railroad that was from the east coast to the west coast. Chinease immigrants were the main source of labor.
  • Boss Tweed Jailed

    Boss Tweed was jailed in 1871 for fraud against the people of New York City
  • Invention of the Telephone

  • Battle of Little Bighorn

    The battle was fought on Little Bighorn, and it was over the Blacck Hills.
  • End of Reconstruction

    Aat the end of reconstruction congress followed through with the radical plan, which angered confederates.
  • Chinese Exclusion Act

    The Chinese Exclusion Act banned Chinese immigrants from the US for 10 years.
  • Time Zones Created

    In 1883 the railroad company seperated the country into 4 differrent time zones.
  • Pendletn Act is Passed

    The Pendelton Act established the Civil Service Commisonto set up competitive examinating for federal jobs.
  • Dawes Act

    The Dawes Act was made to split up Native-american tribes and groups.
  • Sherman Anti-Trust Act

    The Sherman Anti Trust Act made all monopolies illegal in 1890.
  • Battle of Wounded Knee

    Once the Dawes Act was passed the indians tryed to regain their power through the Ghost Dance. Which angered the whites.
  • Ellis Island Opens

    Ellis Island opened in 1892 in New York as an immigration checkpoint.
