1st & 2nd explanation of the Industrial Revolution

  • John Kay

    John Kay
John Kay invented the flying shuttle in 1733 , it greatly accelerated weaving , this design saved traditional labor . An advantage of this invention was the ability to easily produce product , whereas a disadvantage was the size of the invention. The ' Flying shuttle ' is now modernized in factories that manufacture clothing .
  • James Hangreaves

    James Hangreaves
Hangreaves was known for his invention the ' spinning jenny ' this product was confined to producing cotton weft. It was unable to produce yarn of sufficient quality . This invention was initially a hand spinner .The advantage of this invention was the easy access to a quick fix for clothing , the disadvantage for this product is the inability of producing yarn in large quantities .
  • Richard Arkwright

    Richard Arkwright
He invented the carding engine , this was basically an upgrade to the spinning jenny , it produced more product and has less flaws then the original , Arkwright worked on this invention with fellow partner John Smalley , the advantages of this product is the value and good job it does the disadvantages was the size of the product
  • James Watt

    James Watt
He was known for the Watt Steam Engine this engine was the first to have separate condensers . it was a vacuum or an 'atmospheric' engine. This was the point where things started to become more and more modernized . the advantage of this invention was it was the first engine to last and work , the disadvantage was it would be replaced by a better one later .
  • Samuel Crompton

    Samuel Crompton
The Spinning mule spun suitable yarn for the use of manufacture in Muslin , there was a demand for yarn in this time period and the spinning mule sold for 60 pounds, the advantage to this device was the quality and quantity produced in a short time period , the disadvantage was it was not yet modernized and still needed manual labor to produce
  • Richard Trevithick

    Richard Trevithick
This was the first model of a steam powered car , it was a steam driven vehicle it had the speed of nine miles per hour, but since it was a first time model it was better to be going nine miles per hour than trying to walk to your destination .
  • Robert Fulton

    Robert Fulton
Fulton assisted in helping inventing the steamboat , a boat that would be powered by steam and didn't require much manual labor. The boat could carry cargo such as people and or manufactured goods. The good thing about these boats was how much product they could carry over the downfall was how much it costed to produce in short amount of times.
  • George Stephenson

    George Stephenson
Stephenson was the creator of rail travel , the rails where built to travel from place to place by train , instead of walking and or 'driving' this would change the modernization of the world due to this invention was the reason we are able to come out with new cars and travel by train , the rails where invented to keep the train from slipping off of the track , an advantage of this invention is it eliminates the stress of a car but a disadvantage is the cost of a train ride.
  • Henry Bessemer

    Henry Bessemer
The Bessemer process was the easiest and most efficient process of making and producing steel it become the most popular way to produce steel, the advantage of this was the amount of steel that was produced, there was no downfalls too this item , it overall helped .
  • Thomas Edison

    Thomas Edison
Edison began to work on trying to produce electric lighting working with a gas and oil base. This helped the united states to produce lighting and instead of having to use lanterns that where a fire hazard. The good thing about this was the affect it had on the world and the downfall was the damage it could cause in earlier versions of the lightbulb.
  • Nikola Tesla

    Nikola Tesla
He worked on inventing the first electrical supply system. This made lighting all over allowed. the good thing about this invention was the production of light for all .
  • Louis Pasteur

    Louis Pasteur
He invented the pasteurilization of milk and wine which benefited all the buys of those products.
