    TET Offensive is launched in Vietnam
    North Viatnamese forces launched the TET offensive againt the southern forces. They attacked more than 100 cities and towns in south Vietnam. They were hoping to get the U.S. to draw back some of their forces. They were able to hold them back but it did cost a lot of men.
  • Yuri Gagarin Dies

    Yuri Gagarin Dies
    At age 34, Yuri, a hero, dies. He was testing a MiG-15 fighter jet when the plane pumeted to the ground and he was instantly killed. In June of 2013, His fellow Cosmonaunt tells that a Sukhoi fighter jet was flying too low and it was traveling at supersonic speed and passed right by his plane, makeing the plane and Yuri spiral straight to the ground.

    Martin Luther King Jr. Is Assassinated
    Martain Luther King Jr. was standing on his balcony when he was shot and killed. He was taken to the hospital and pronounced dead at 7:05. President Lyndon B. Johnson pronounced a day of mourning on the 7th.

    Robert Kennedy is assassinated
    Robert Kennedy was assassinated at the Ambassidor Hotel in Los Angeles. He was killed right after he had won California's presidential primary. He was shot by a 22 year old man named Palestinian Sirhan Sirhan.

  • Zond 5 launched

    Zond 5 launched
    The Soviet Union launched Zond 5 on Sptember 15, 1968. It was carrying a biological payload with many different creatures including turtles. It went around the moon and then came backe to Earth 6 days later.
  • The Zodiac Killer Strikes

    The Zodiac Killer was a serial killer in Northern California who would send the newspaper letters that would have strqange codes. Only 1 out of four has been decifered. The Identity and wearabouts of the Zodiac killer are still unknown.
  • First Manned Trip to the Moon

    Frank Borman, James Lovell, and William Anders began the first manned journey to the moon. On Christmas Eve they take turns reading genesis over a broadcast. This broadcast is heard around the world.
