Said action was named "McCarthyism" (after him) for being known that whoever got in case with the name of this senator, was going to be another accused of being a communist. People who were accused got blacklisted or lost their jobs. -

Group of nine black students who enrolled at all-white Central High School in Little Rock. On the first day of classes Governorn Orval Faubus called the National Guard to block the students entry into the school. Later, President Dwight D. Eisenhower sent federal troops to escort the Little Rock Nine.

The U.S. found a missile launch site in Cuba leading to President Kennedy make an invasion well known as the "Bay of Pigs."
