World War 1 was the first war that included many of the world's great powers. During this war, an Influenza pandemic occurred and killed an estimated 50 million people. Aside from the devastation of the sickness, the devastation from war-related actions was also horrible. Around 30 million military personnel died, while 10 million civilians lost their lives. This war finally ended in 1918 when Germany signed an armistice agreement with the Allies.
