    The Newland act allowed for irrigation systems in western America where there were smaller amounts of water and a drier climate.
  • World War 1 Starts

    This was started over the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria-Hungary. He was assassinated by a Serbian nationalist terrorist group.
  • United States Declares war on Germany

    The United States declared war on Germany because they attacked many American passenger ships and boats bringing supplies to our allies.
  • Sinking of the Lusitania

    Germans sunk this British passenger ship killing many including 120 Americans.
  • 18th amendment passed

    The 18th amendment prohibited the sale, production, and transportation of alcohol or any alcoholic beverage.
  • World War 1 Ends

    World war 1 ends with the treaty of Versailles and put a majority of the blame on Germany. Germany was forced to pay reparations and had to limit its military as a result.
